Rumors and News:

[August– September 2005]

    Recent highlights have been photographing the Dusit-owned, D2 Hotel, a hip concept property        aimed at the stylish traveler. Several of these images will be featured in our September Gallery.

    More trips around the north of Thailand with Lonely Planet author Joe Cummings, and photographer        Luca Tettoni, to finish up several book projects from the region.


[May – July 2005]

    Brent has been busy photographing for various magazines and clients including Madame Figaro and        Home & Décor. Spas are also a developing specialty for Brent – he is getting an increasing number        of requests to do assignments for health centers and spas, including the newest boutique spa in        Chiang Mai,The OASIS. He has also just finished photographing an assignment in Bangkok for        Canadian-based Toro Magazine.

    Karin has been busy laying out a coffee table book and various brochures. She has also been        lending her media advice to several NGOs.

    Along with hot season comes the annual water festival and Thai New Year celebrations, also        known as “Songkhran.” The city of Chiang Mai was transformed into a temporary war zone as        residents and tourists alike, engaged in massive water fights centered around the city’s ancient        moat. Brent ventured into the fray and captured the fun on film. Click here to view a selection of        his photos from the festival:

    Karin had the opportunity to interview Dr. Mauro Schechter, a renowned HIV/AIDS researcher and        physician based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Schechter is one of the co-chairs for the 3rd IAS        Conference on Pathogenesis and Treatment which will be held in Rio de Janeiro this July. The        interview will appear in IATEC Update, the magazine of the International Antiviral Therapy        Evaluation Center in Amsterdam.

[February - March 2005]

    Brent has been working as the assistant photographer with famed resort and spa photographer,        Luca Invernizzi Tettoni. With over 80 coffee-table book titles published, Luca has hired Brent to        help him photograph his most recent five book projects in Thailand.

    The Reebok company is added to the MadisonImages client list. Reebok used Brent’s        environmental portrait of a young human rights activist working with women refugees from Burma,        for their Reebok Human Right’s Award 2005 campaign.

    The December 26 tsunami devastated hundreds of businesses here in Thailand and left behind        thousand of victims. Brent traveled to Khao Lak, Ko Phi Phi, and Phuket, Thailand on various        assignments to document the recovery process in the south. The journey was a difficult one in        many ways but also filled with hope. He encountered people of every nationality helping clean up        and identify victims; working alongside thousands of Thais determined to restore the beauty of        their country.

    Images from this shoot have been published in the Cleveland Plain Dealer and will appear in the        April issue of National Geographic Adventure magazine.

    Famous actors and actresses from around the globe attended the Bangkok International Film        Festival in January. Brent was on hand to catch the stars and scored a private photo shoot with        Jeremy Irons at The Oriental Hotel, Bangkok. Brent captured images of Jeremy with the sun        setting on the banks of the Chao Praya River.

    We completed this exciting feature assignment for the December issue of Marie Claire Magazine       (USA). Brent went on-location in Northern Thailand to photograph a young human rights activist       who received the Marie Claire “Women of the World Award” for 2004.

    Also in the works is a photo book exclusively featuring Brent’s images. We’ll announce the title        when we know! Karin continues media consulting and is designing a calendar for a non-profit group        for the third year running, also based exclusively on Brent’s photography of refugees.
